Well, after many long debates (all in my own head) and lots of conversations with Matt, we decided to put Jackson in preschool. We came to the decision because he was getting SOOOOO bored at home and he was beginning to drive me crazy! Also, we thought the social aspect would be good for our shy little guy. I was so excited when I found a private Christian school that still had openings! He is attending the Tuesday/Thursday class for three and half hours. And today was his first day!

We were not quite sure what to expect from Jack on his first day. Both Matt and I felt excited, yet a little sad at this big change in his life. It is proving that he is growing up and there is nothing we can to do slow that process down!

All week long we talked about how exciting today would be and how much fun he would have at school. We went and picked out a backpack last night and just tried to get him in the groove! He woke up this morning excited and ready to go to school!

We got there early so we could take pictures and meet his teacher. The class actually started last week, but we were lucky that there were three other new students so Jackson wasn't the only "new kid".

Once inside the classroom (it took a little nudging and prodding) Jackson didn't look back! He met a little boy named James, gave us hugs, and he was off showing James the classroom (James had already been there for a week....he was probably wondering who this kid thought he was!)

For some reason I thought my little introvert would cry and not want us to go, but I am grateful I was wrong. I'll admit I got a little teary eyed as we left, I can't believe my little boy is off to preschool already. What's next, high school? Ugh!

I couldn't wait to go pick him up and see how his day had gone. And in true Ericka fashion I got there really really early so I was able to take a picture of him during circle time. I was happy to see him having a good time.

And when it was time to go, he had a huge smile on his face and said that he had a good day. So we took a couple more pictures and he called Matt to tell him all about it.

While it is a little depressing that Jackson is growing up, we are so excited for this new chapter and can't wait to experience the fun things that come with going to school!

I had to take a picture of the whole clan.

Can I just say that it is exhausting loading two babies and a big kid in and out of the car, and then carting them around! Man, we came home and I needed a nap!

Preschool! Ah! They are all growing up too fast. He looks so cute and happy--the perfect little student. :)
Oh, my goodness! How can this be? I'm sure you are all the more nervous/excited having been a preschool teacher yourself. Fortunately, he isn't in Syracuse out on a playground with syringes - yikes! He looks like a very happy and darling little student. I LOVE that age.
why do you have 2 babies?
I love the backpack! He is so handsome! What a big guy and I love that he showed the other kid around. Maybe he was worried James had missed something upon his own inspections. Jackson was just being helpful.
Preschool! I have to say I think it was one of the best things we ever did for Bryan. He LOVED it! Now I just wish he loved kindergarten as much, well it's only been three days! We'll have to see!! Good LUCK!!
