A day without red cheeks!

I just had to post a picture of Charlie without the red cheeks! I don't know if it is the weather or if we finally got his diet figured out, but his cheeks are clear and not red!  I am sure tomorrow they will be irritated again, but I just had to document this momentous day!

Bed Head

If anyone knows how to slow down the hands of time so my baby will stop growing up, could ya please let me in on the secret?
Char was just hanging out on the bed this morning playing with toys while we got ready for church.
Ya gotta love the bed head!
He will be seven months in a couple of days.  We just can't get enough of this cute little guy.  My favorite thing is when he gets a huge smile on his face and starts to whisper "da-da", then he spits and does what Matt calls "the Hafer (my maiden name) lisp!" He loves his daddy and when I ask him where his da-da is his head whips around frantically looking for Matt, and as soon as he sees him he breaks into the biggest smile!  We think he is the cutest, red cheeks and all!

Tucson Zoo

We packed up and took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed to the zoo today.  We got there, only to find out that it was Kid's Day and we all got in free!  Lucky us!

We were pleasantly surprised by the zoo.  It was the perfect size and the animals were so close.  Jackson actually got to see the tigers and rhinos and other animals, whereas at the Phoenix Zoo the animals were so far away and very rarely came out.
The most exciting part was that Jack got to feed the giraffes!
It's a good thing they have long tongues because he wasn't willing to get TOO close!!
Charlie had a great time. He loves being outside and in his stroller.  We had a fun day and can't
wait to go back!

The House

So, people have asked to see the house, however, don't get too excited..there is a huge, over grown tree in the front yard that hides the house almost completely.  When we realized we were moving out here, we started looking at apartments and realized we could rent a house for the same price as an apartment, so we started looking for rental houses.  Then we came across this little gem.
Though you can't tell from looking, it is a cute little four bedroom house with a yard in the back (you'll notice the lovely rocks in the front).  We are able to rent for LESS than it would cost to rent a three bedroom apartment.  It had been sitting on the market for so long that the realtor practically begged our realtors to show it to us. And we loved it! They made a deal we couldn't refuse, so, here we are!  I cannot tell you how much I LOVE having an extra bedroom for guests, a backyard, and a garage to protect our car (and our rear ends) from 110 degree heat!!

Hanging out on a Sunday afternoon!

Jack refuses to take a normal picture these days.  As soon as the camera is out we are graced with one of these silly faces!
Crazy kid!
And my little Char Char (one of many nick names, NONE of which include Chuck by the way!) As you can see, his eczema has flared up again, but he is still a cute little guy.  He is getting so big! I LOVE this age!
Before he could sit up on his own, he hated to be on the floor, but now it is one of his favorite places to be!

Easter Morning

Jackson awoke Easter morning to a bunch of eggs scattered about and a basket that, once again, the Easter Bunny went overboard on!  That darn bunny!
The Easter Bunny decided to get him a journal and some cool writing utensils so that every morning we can have journal time.  It's something I did with my kids when I taught school and it was amazing to see the transformations in their writings from the beginning of the year to the end! I am excited to see that from Jack.   And he got a few other good treats too!  Charlie got a toy as well. Although, I am a dummy, I forgot to get a picture of us all dressed up!  Oh well!

So sad!

Jackson was very upset the other day when all of his cars died!  They just rolled over and died!  I guess they all suffered from broken legs (which later became broken wheels).  It was a very sad day!
But a very happy day for Charlie! I think we may have gotten his eczema under control (for the time being anyway!)  His little cheeks are healing and hopefully they will continue to get better! He's six months now and eating solid food, rolling all over the place, and sitting up all by himself!  Time goes by way to fast!

Let's go fly a kite!

Today we had the perfect weather to fly a kite! Jackson was lucky enough to get a kite from my mom and dad when they were visiting and we decided to give it a test run today! Jackson was so excited.
Who knew that Matt was a master kite flyer?  He even helped Jackson take a turn at it!

It was a little difficult for Jackson to actually get the kite off the ground.....
Then they got it stuck in a tree!  Some master kite flyer!
Charlie had a great time and was happy to get out of the house!!
